Chiefs-Cardinals Friday injury report: Morse, two others out

The Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals announced their injury statuses today for Sunday's matchup at Arrowhead Stadium, and three players will be missing the game in total as center Mitch Morse (concussion) will be out for the fourth straight week for the Chiefs while wide receiver Chad Williams (ankle) and defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche (calf) will be sidelined for the Cardinals.

Numerous players were listed as questionable for each team, including wide receiver Sammy Watkins (foot), inside linebacker Anthony Hitchens (rib) and outside linebacker Justin Houston (hamstring) for the Chiefs and safeties Budda Baker (foot) and Tre Boston (chest) as well as offensive linemen Mike Iupati (back) and Justin Pugh (hand) for the Cardinals, although Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks said today the players he has listed as questionable should be good to go. Baker was back at practice today in a limited capacity after sitting out Thursday, after which Wilks told reporters there was nothing to worry about there in terms of game status.

"We wanted to make sure he had a day just to calm it down a little bit but he's fine, moved around great today and looked good," Wilks said.

There were positive signs for the Chiefs injury-wise today as Watkins, Hitchens and guard Cam Erving (illness) returned to practice after sitting out on Wednesday and Thursday and could be in a position to play on Sunday. Hitchens spoke a bit about his injury with reporters after practice, saying he's still feeling discomfort after sustaining the injury in Week 8 but that it won't get any worse from here.

"It's pain; as football players we all go through pain," Hitchens said. "It's definitely another level of pain, but throughout the week our traininers have been doing a great job with me. I know I probably get on their nerves; I'm here all day. I don't go home until about 7:30 at night.  So I'm here early and I'm going to stay in here until I get right. I've just got to stay on it, get treatment. Nothing I can do right now to make it worse, so just keep getting treatment and try to get better."

Watkins, Houston, and Daniel Sorensen in particular all seem to be in wait-and-see mode for Sunday, particularly Houston, who hasn't played since Week 5, and Sorensen, who is coming off injured reserve after knee surgery. Eric Berry, who remains sidelined with heel issues that popped up in training camp, is listed as doubtful for the tenth consecutive week.

Here's a look at the full participation reports for both the Chiefs and Cardinals from Friday, along with injury designations.
